Ending

You know how it goes... how it feels..

The day begins but I care not
A thousand million suns could rise
And light this hard and ceaseless world
Climbing, age-worn through the skies

The day begins but no amount
Of light will make my darkness fade
For light is life and mine is done
No, strike that - let me lose this shade

And stand a mile from our Sun,
Alone and screaming, incomplete
Open eyed, insane and wanting,
Let the searing, joyful heat

Burn my skin and bleach my hair and blind me;
Let it take my sight
Break me, make me lose my sense of fairness,
Take me to this light

I want to feel distracting pain
I want my mind a lonely place
I want to never see again
If I can never see her face

The day begins but I cannot
The light on which all others thrive
Turns me into ash and dust
Not living now, no

Just alive

  1. This poem is excellent.. I made the right choice by reading it..

I love the stanzas but what sealed the deal was the ending

"Turns me into ash and dust
    Not living now, no

    Just alive"

    Truly a strong end..
